성 앙뚜안 다블뤼 보스턴 한인 성당에 오신 여러분을 진심으로 환영합니다.
저희 본당은 보스턴 대교구에 소속된, 매사추세츠주 유일의 한인 천주교 공동체입니다.
신자분들께서는 매사추세츠주 뿐만 아니라, 멀리 뉴햄프셔주와 로드 아일랜드주에서도 오십니다. 한국의 언어와 문화 그리고 정서 안에서, 그리스도의 가르침을 바탕으로 사랑을 실천하고 기도하는 신앙인으로 성장하고자 노력 합니다.
가톨릭 신자로서 주님안에 하나되는 본당 공동체는 성체 성사와 고해 성사를 중심으로 기도하는 삶을 지향하며 주님의 은총과 성모님의 전구에 의지하여 모든 신자들이 세례성사로 시작된 하느님과의 삶을 진실되게 살아가고자 합니다. 이 복된 삶의 여정을 신자분들과 함께 걸어갈 수 있게 되어 기쁩니다.

We warmly welcome you to St. Antoine Daveluy Boston Korean Catholic Church.
Our parish belongs to the Archdiocese of Boston and is the only Korean Catholic community in the state of Massachusetts. Our parishioners come not only from Massachusetts but also from as far away as New Hampshire and Rhode Island. Within the language, culture, and sentiment of Korea, we strive to grow as people of faith who pray and practice love based on the teachings of Christ.
As a Catholic community united in the Lord, our parish centers its life of prayer around the Holy Eucharist and the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Relying on the grace of the Lord and the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, all our parishioners seek to live truthfully the life with God that began with the Sacrament of Baptism. We are truly joyful to walk this blessed journey of life together with you.

성당 주보 성인 Parish Patron Saint
성 앙뚜안 다블뤼 성인 (1818년 ~ 1866년)
조선 천주교회 제5대 대목구장을 역임하신 앙뚜안 다블뤼 성인은 프랑스 아미앵의 부유한 가정에서 태어나 1841년 사제로 서품 되셨습니다. 성인은 파리 외방전교회에 입회하여 이듬해 극동 선교사로 임명되시고 마카오에서 김대건 신부와 함께 충남 황산포에 도착하여 공동체 주변의 신자들에게 성사를 주었고, 점차 더 먼 곳에 있는 신자들을 방문하기 시작 하였습니다.
병오박해가 있던 1846년 새남터에서 순교하신 김대건 신부 소식을 듣고 페레올 주교와 함께 피신하며 수리치골에 도착한 뒤에는 몇몇 신자들을 모아 신심단체인 ‘성모성심회’를 조직 하였습니다.
수년동안 순회 전교를 하지 못한채 소년 신학생들을 가르치던 중 다블뤼 신부는 1856년부터 조선 교회사 및 조선 순교사 사료를 본격적으로 수집하기 시작하였으며, 신입 교우들을 위한 교리서도 편찬 하였습니다. 그뿐만 아니라 사전 편찬 작업을 이어 받았는데, 이 사전은 1866년 병인박해 후 선교사들에 의해 보완되어 『나선소사전(羅鮮小辭典) 』이란 이름으로 간행 되었습니다.
그 후 다블뤼 주교는 1861년 6월 15일 최양업 신부가 문경에서 병사하자 최 신부가 활동하던 경상도 남부 지역을 떠맡아 선교 하였습니다. 그리고 1862년에는 그동안 수집 정리해 온 조선 교회사 및 조선 순교자들에 대한 자료들을 파리 외방전교회 신학교 교장 알브랑(Fran ois Antoine Albrand)에게 보내어 “다블뤼 비망기”라고 불리는 것으로 달래(Ch. Dallet) 신부는 이것을 바탕으로 하여 1874년에 『한국 천주교회사(Histoire deI’Eglise de Cor e) 』를 편찬 간행하였던 것입니다.
현재까지 알려진 다블뤼 주교의 저서와 역서로는 『영세대의(領洗大義) 』,『성찰기략(省察記略) 』, 『다블뤼 주교 비망기』, (사본 전 4권, 제 4권이 『조선 순교사 비망기』), 『신명초행(神命初行) 』상.하, 『회죄직지(悔罪直指) 』, 『성교 요리문답(聖敎要理問答) 』, 『천주 성교 예규(天主聖敎禮規) 』 등이 있습니다.
다블뤼 주교는 1866년 3월 11일 거더리에서 체포되었고, 이튿날에는 위앵 신부와 오메트르 신부가 자수하여 그들과 함께 서울로 압송 되었습니다. 두차례의 신문을 받은 끝에 군문효수형의 판결을 받고 1866년 3월 30일 충청도 갈매못 바닷가 모래사장에서 순교 하셨습니다.
1968년 10월 6일 로마 베드로 대성당에서 교황 바오로 6세에 의해 복자품에 오르고 1984년 5월 6일 서울 여의도에서 교황 요한 바오로 2세에 의해 성인품에 오르셨습니다.
Saint Antoine Daveluy (1818–1866)
Saint Antoine Daveluy, who served as the fifth Apostolic Vicar of the Catholic Church in Joseon (Korea), was born into a wealthy family in Amiens, France, and was ordained a priest in 1841. He joined the Paris Foreign Missions Society (MEP) and was appointed as a missionary to the Far East the following year. Traveling from Macau alongside Father Andrew Kim Taegon, he arrived at Hwangsanpo in Chungcheong Province, where he administered the sacraments to local believers and gradually expanded his pastoral visits to more distant regions.
In 1846, during the Byeong-o Persecution, Father Daveluy received news of Father Kim Taegon's martyrdom at Saenamteo. He went into hiding with Bishop Ferréol and eventually reached Surichigol. There, he gathered a small group of faithful to form the "Confraternity of the Immaculate Heart of Mary," a devotional lay association.
Restricted from traveling for missionary tours for several years, he dedicated his time to teaching young seminarians. In 1856, Father Daveluy began in earnest to collect historical records regarding the history of the Catholic Church and Christian martyrs in Joseon, while also compiling catechisms for new believers. Furthermore, he took over the monumental task of compiling a dictionary. After the Byeong-in Persecution of 1866, this work was finalized by fellow missionaries and published under the title Dictionarium Latino-Coreanum (Latin-Korean Dictionary).
Following the passing of Father Thomas Choe Yang-eop, who died of illness in Mungyeong on June 15, 1861, Bishop Daveluy took charge of the southern Gyeongsang Province, where Father Choe had actively ministered. In 1862, he sent his extensive collection of historical documents and notes on the Korean martyrs to Father François Antoine Albrand, the rector of the MEP Seminary. These documents became known as the "Daveluy Memoranda." Based on these records, Father Charles Dallet compiled and published the monumental Histoire de l’Église de Corée (History of the Church of Korea) in 1874.
To date, Bishop Daveluy’s known writings and translations include The Core Teachings of Baptism (Yeongsedeoui), A Brief Guide to Examination of Conscience (Seongchalginryak), The Bishop Daveluy Memoranda (a four-volume manuscript, with the fourth volume titled The Memoranda on the History of Korean Martyrs), The First Steps of Spiritual Life (Sinmyeongchohaeng, Volumes 1 and 2), A Direct Guide to Repentance (Hoejoejikji), The Catechism of Christian Doctrine (Seonggyo Yorimundap), and The Ritual Guide of the Holy Church (Cheonju Seonggyo Yegyui).
Bishop Daveluy was arrested in Geoderi on March 11, 1866. The following day, Father Huin and Father Aumaître surrendered themselves, and they were escorted together to Seoul. After undergoing two severe interrogations, they were sentenced to military execution by decapitation. On March 30, 1866, Bishop Daveluy was martyred on the sandy shores of Galmaemot in Chungcheong Province.
He was beatified by Pope Paul VI at St. Peter's Basilica in Rome on October 6, 1968, and was canonized as a saint by Pope John Paul II in Yeouido, Seoul, on May 6, 1984.
